Small GTPase which cycles between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states. In its active state, binds to a variety of effector proteins to regulate homeostasis of late endocytic pathway, including endosomal positioning, maturation and secretion ref. Plays a role in NTRK2/TRKB axonal anterograde transport by facilitating the association of NTRK2/TRKB with KLC1 ref. May be involved in targeting uroplakins to urothelial apical membranes (By similarity).

Flow cytometric analysis of RAB27B was done on SH-SY5Y cells. The cells were fixed, permeabilized and stained with the primary antibody (ER2001-10, 1ug/ml) (red) compared with Rabbit IgG, monoclonal - Isotype Control (green). After incubation of the primary antibody at +4℃ for 1 hour, the cells were stained with a Alexa Fluor®488 conjugate-Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution for 30 minutes at +4℃ (dark incubation).Unlabelled sample was used as a control (cells without incubation with primary antibody; black).
